What we believe

Privacy compliance works best when it’s built into the way your business already operates. ElderCairn helps you establish clear, right‑sized data practices that support your growth, strengthen your operations, and reflect the way you work today. We help you build practical systems that scale with you — systems that make your data practices intentional, documented, and aligned with your real‑world responsibilities. When your operations are grounded in clarity and proportion, your business is better prepared for growth, better equipped for incidents, and more confident in the trust you offer customers and partners. ElderCairn makes privacy operational at the right scale for where you are right now — and ready for where you’re going next.

Why ElderCairn?

“Elder” reflects years of practitioner experience, the judgment, pattern recognition, and operational wisdom earned from helping organizations navigate real‑world data responsibilities. It signals steadiness, perspective, and trust built over time.

A "cairn" is a purposeful stack of stones, a marker built with intention to guide travelers through uncertain terrain. ElderCairn carries that same spirit of guidance, grounded in experience and constructed with care.

Together, the name expresses what ElderCairn is built to do: guide businesses through the operational complexities of data risk management with clarity, confidence, and the practical insight that comes from experience. Every resource we create is another stone in that cairn. Placed with intention and built to last.

Built by a professional

ElderCairn’s resources are developed by Ulla Pinion, CIPP/US, CCEP — a senior privacy leader with more than a decade of experience designing and operationalizing enterprise privacy programs across financial services, healthcare, insurance, and global consumer brands.

She brings deep practitioner expertise having worked in HIPAA, CCPA, GDPR, PIPEDA and LGPD environments while working cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, Legal, Security, and Data Governance teams to make privacy work in fast‑moving, data‑rich environments.

Ulla’s background includes strengthening incident response, supporting mergers and acquisitions, advising on authentication and verification practices, and developing evidence‑based documentation for audit and regulatory readiness. She holds a Master of Science in Jurisprudence (Health Law) and a BBA in Finance, and has published on data de‑identification.

ElderCairn is built from lived experience, shaped by years of navigating the same operational and technical complexities your business is facing.
